    matterinterop3@gmail.com

info

By adding CSA ITL emails to your organization, you are permitting CSA ITL to test your device using the SmartThings Automated Test Suite (ATS), and to submit your device for WWST certification.

Create Your Brand

If you do not yet have a Brand created in the SmartThings Console, create one by selecting Brands from the Console sidebar menu and follow the indicated prompts to create a new Brand.

Create Your Product

After inviting the CSA ITL emails to your Organization and creating a brand, you are ready to create a new Product in the SmartThings Console. The product form will document several key elements of your device, including connection protocols, model number(s), and more.

To create a new Product in the Console:

  1. Select Products from the Console sidebar menu and create a new product, or navigate to https://developer.smartthings.com/console/products/new. On the new product page, you will be asked to complete information in two sections: product details, and integration details.

Provide Product Details

  1. You will be prompted to provide several product details, including:
    • Product name
    • Model number
    • Brand (select the Brand you created in the previous steps)
    • Product category
    • Product description
    • Product image in PNG format (transparent background required; minimum resolution 584x584px)
    • (Optional) Product purchase url

Provide Integration Details

You will also need to provide your integration details on the same page:

  1. Select Edge Device as your Integration Type
  2. Select Standard for Edge Device Integration Details
  3. Select your Matter Protocol Type (Wi-Fi or Thread)
  4. (Optional) Select a driver for your device. If you are unsure what driver to use, the Edge Driver Builder can guide you through the selection process. Optionally, you may skip this step; the ITL will provide this info when submitting your device for certification.
  5. (Optional) Provide your VID and PID. The ITL will provide this in their submission on your behalf if you do not have these values readily available.
  6. Select a Device Profile for your product. If you are unsure what Device Profile to use, the Edge Driver Builder can guide you through the selection process.
  7. Select or create a new onboarding profile for your product. The onboarding profile defines the manual pairing instructions. If you do not have an onboarding profile created, select Create an onboarding profile here to begin the creation process.
  8. Select the regions/countries your product will be distributed in.
  9. Provide your product hardware version, firmware version, and power source.
important

Skip the Works with SmartThings Test Suite section of the new product page. The ITL tester will complete this section for you.

  1. Click Create Product to save your product info to the Certification Console.

Notify CSA ITL and Complete Your Submission

After creating your Product in the Certification Console, contact your SmartThings Partner Success Manager. Your Partner Success Manager will notify CSA ITL to complete the remaining submission steps for you, including:

  • Running the Automated Test Suite
  • Linking the results to your product
  • Submitting your product for certification

Once your product is certified, you can safely remove the CSA ITL tester emails from your Organization, or keep them associated for future certifications. Your certified products will automatically be published to the SmartThings catalog, and now enjoy the benefits of WWST certification, including utilizing the Works with SmartThings press kit.
