Migrate Your Brand from Developer Workspace to Developer Center

If you have an existing Brand(s) in the Developer Workspace, you can now submit a migration request to have your Brand(s) migrated to the Developer Center. Once your Brand has been migrated to the Developer Center, you will be able to associate your Brand with Products you create in the Developer Center.

Products created in the Developer Workspace will not be affected in any way if you migrate your Brand. If you have Cloud Connected Devices, visit Migrate Your Cloud Connected Devices for information on migrating your Schema Apps and Products.

If you intend to migrate your Brand from the Developer Workspace, DO NOT create the same brand in the Certification Console. Doing so may lead to conflicts, duplication, and potential issues with the migration process. Please proceed with the migration process as directed below to ensure a smooth transition.

Submit Your Migration Request​

Submit your Brand migration request by emailing partners@smartthings.com with the following information:

  • Company name
  • Company main URL
  • Mailing Address in the following format (each line is only required if applicable to your address):
    • Address line 1
    • Address line 2
    • City
    • State
    • Country
    • Zip code
  • Contact name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Your requested name for your Organization (commonly your company name). If you have an existing Developer Center Organization, you can designate it as your Organization by providing your Organization ID.
  • The email addresses of team members to invite to your Organization as a developer (minimum one team member).
  • The email addresses of team members to invite to your Organization as an administrator (minimum one team member).

Admins and Developers share the same privileges except for those specific to managing the Organization. Only Admins can view members, invite members, remove members, edit member roles, edit the Organization name, and delete the Organization.

By submitting your Brand migration request, you are providing permission for a SmartThings Partner Success Manager to perform the Brand migration on your behalf, and for the Partner Success Manager to be part of your Organization to complete the migration and provide visibility to assist you as needed.

Allow 2-3 working days for your Brand migration. When migration is complete, your Partner Success Manager will invite members of your Brand to the new Organization via email in accordance with your migration request (at least one member is required to maintain admin access). You can now add your Brand to any Products your team creates in the Developer Center!
