Test Suite Supported Device Types and Capabilities

To qualify for self-test certification, your device must match a supported device type and use only supported Capabilities. It must also meet the other self-test certification requirements:

  • It connects using Matter, Zigbee, Z-Wave, LAN, Cloud Connected (SmartThings Schema), or Direct Connected (MQTT). Direct Connected devices also need a Security Review.
  • It has passed a Full Integration Test in the Test Suite.
  • The product you certify is fully compatible with the tested device. It uses the same device profile, driver, Capabilities, and device type as the device you tested.

If your device includes a Capability that isn't on the list, you can still test it in the Test Suite. Unsupported Capabilities appear under Not supported in this Test Session, at the bottom of the test plan page, before you start the test session. See Review Your Test Plan. SmartThings will review your submission and decide whether additional testing is required.
